THE AFRICAN UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (AUST) SCHOOL OF FOUNDATION AND REMEDIAL STUDIES
Introduction
The African University of Science and Technology (AUST), has a long-established track record of providing high quality education judged by AUST as 'outstanding' and has demonstrated an understanding of what it takes to achieve excellent standards with students through outreach program of the University. In this regard, AUST wishes to inform the general public and candidates who wish to apply for Foundation and Remedial Programme that admission is now in progress for 2024/2025 academic session.
Available Programmes
The School of Foundation and Remedial Studies offers the following programmes:
Remedial Studies
Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB)
National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) O’Levels
Remedial Studies: This program is aimed at preparing candidates through six months intensive program to be better fit for 100 level programs in AUST. It will also help students to be better prepared for JAMB Examination in April/May. However, candidates with O’ level deficiencies can also join the program. At the end of the program, a candidate who has his\her O’level requirement and obtains the cut-off mark approved by the university senate shall be admitted into our degree programs.
NABTEB O’ Level: This program is designed for NABTEB O’level Examination. Candidates can either register to sit for NABTEB O’Level Examination in Nov/Dec or May/ June. They can as well join the remedial studies in preparation for the NABTEB and JAMB Examination.
JUPEB A Level: The Program is designed to prepare candidates through a nine months of intensive training after which they write the examinations conducted by JUPEB in September. Candidates who pass the examination at the end of the program and obtain the minimum cut-off point approved by the University shall be considered for 100 or 200 level direct entry admission into the degree program of the university based on performance. Moreover, candidates can use JUPEB A level exam to gain admission into any university of their choice in Nigeria.
Admission Requirement
For Remedial and JUPEB A level candidates are required to have a minimum of five (5) credits including English Language and Mathematics and other subjects relevant to the course of study obtained at not more than two sittings at the SSCE/WASCE, NECO, NABTEB or GCE. There is no requirement for NABTEB O’level.
Duration of Programme: The duration for JUPEB A level program is nine (9) months, while that of Remedial and NABTEB O’level is six (6) months.
Method of Application and Registration
Candidates are to visit the AUST website www.aust.edu.ng or click here and follow the instructions for the 2024/2025 admission into the School of Foundation and Remedial Studies or obtain the form directly from the School of Foundation and Remedial Studies at AUST campus, Abuja.

APPLICATION PROCESS
Application forms can be completed online or obtain the form directly from the School of Foundation and Remedial Studies at AUST campus, Abuja at the cost of N500. Furthermore, a non-refundable N25,000 application processing fee will be paid into a designated university account.

Complete and submit the application form online or submit it directly to the School of Foundation and Remedial Studies with evidence of payment.
Wait for notification of Admission
Obtain your Admission letter once admitted and pay a non-refundable acceptance fee of N25,000
Pay at least 60% of the school fees and proceed with registration
Proceed for lectures at our lecture centres within the university
