What is expected of you
Students are expected to regard themselves as ambassadors of AUST and to have respect for fellow students, staff, neighbours and others. There is a strict Student Honor Code and Student Conduct Code which is strictly adhered to at the University. All students are required to familiarize themselves with the various academic policies as stated in the Student Handbook, to become conversant with what is expected of them academically throughout your stay on campus. Important issues addressed include: Continuous Assessment of student academic performance, the University's Grading Policy, academic requirements for graduation, etc.
Resident students must keep to the terms and conditions of their Accommodation Contract and the Code of Conduct while living in Residence Halls. Breach of these conditions will result in disciplinary action and the details of these are contained in the links below. The consequences of breaking the Code can be severe and result in fines or even expulsion from the halls or from the University altogether.
What you can expect from others
You should expect other students and staff to treat you with respect and to be helpful and polite at all times. If you have a problem in this regard you should speak to an appropriate person in your Department, someone in the Student Affairs Offices, or in exceptional cases the Registrar.
The university reserves the right to alter the regulations and policies stated herein at any time.
