Student Services

A number of student services are provided to all registered students at the University campus.

Library Services

AUST Library Services provides access to a wide-ranging collection of physical and online resources to support learning and research. Library staff work close to the materials and students who assist in the libraries are also very accessible to provide support and advice on resources and services where and when you need them. Support can also be obtained virtually via our email services. Libraries are located at the Mandela Hall, the Computer Science Building, the Mathematics Institute and the ADB Labs. Only fully registered students will have access to the Library Services.

 

Dining at AUST Cafeteria Hall – Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided to all students on scholarship at AUST at no charge. Meals are usually served at the Cafeteria Hall every day. Breakfast is served between the hours of 7:00 am and 9:30 am, while lunch is served from 12 noon to 2:30 pm and dinner is from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm. For accounting purposes, all students are required to sign the Dining Log Sheet located in the Cafeteria Hall for each meal they have

AUST Shop and Tech Cafe – The AUST Shop, located within the FCT Hall, sells a moderate range of personal hygiene items and a small selection of such supplies as confectionery and snacks, soft drinks, stationery and University branded items. The Tech Cafe, located in the Mandela Hall, provides light snacks and soft drinks.

 

University Gym and Swimming Pool

AUST's residential, and non-residential, community can gain access to all the fitness equipment available at the University Gym and Swimming Pool on campus. Fully registered students are not required to pay a membership fee. 

The University Gym and Swimming Pool provides a friendly, enjoyable, and relaxed atmosphere for you to exercise and offers a wide range of exercise equipment including treadmills, steppers, exercise bikes, resistance equipment and free weights. The Swimming Pool provides a spot where you can both exercise in a treated pool as well as cool off after a hot day. Please note that there are no lifeguards stationed at the poolside and only experienced swimmers are advised to make use of it.

 

Launderette

For washing clothes and bedding, a fully staffed launderette service is provided on campus. This service is provided; at no cost, to all students on scholarship and living on campus.
