Pan African School of Materials Science Workshop 2016

African countries have been unable to keep pace with rapid advances in materials science partly because limited resources have been available to train scientists in state-of-knowledge methods in materials science and engineering. Consequently, there are few trained African materials scientists to address and solve African problems. In recognition of this and in an attempt to address this identified challenge, the Pan African Materials Institute (PAMI) have developed a research partnership framework, tailored to be in tandem with the regional development needs in West and Central Africa.
