West African Ph.D. Degree in Mathematics

There is an urgent need to produce young mathematicians, teachers and researchers across West Africa and other sub-regions, who will train the next generation of scientists and engineers. This will tremendously help to tackle the numerous challenges facing the West African and other sub-regions. By the end of 3 years, this training will produce scientists, researchers and teachers for the numerous ill-staffed institutions of higher learning in the sub-region. These young researchers will be capable to conduct collaborative research on peculiar problems confronting the sub-region and also publish their findings in reputable International Journals. This will also bring young students from the sub-regions to work together and will lead to better understanding and promote peace and respect among them.
