Petroleum Students Net Industry Big wigs
This was a pioneering event in that, for the first time in AUST’s 9-year history, this was also an “awards ceremony” at which students, faculty and staff were recognised for their contributions to their program area as well as to student life in general. Since the event was also staged as an annual meeting of the AUST student chapter of the Society for Petroleum Engineers, it is noteworthy and highly commendable that the students were able to attract some of the oil industry’s heavy weights. In that regard, kudos to Prof. David Ogbe a well-known academic in petroleum engineering circles and highly respected practitioner, who also used his influence to attract such industry luminaries. The guest speaker was Mr. Chikezie Nwosu whose CV reads like something from the “Who’s Who in International Oil”. He is Deputy Managing Director, Technical Addax Petroleum Development (Nigeria) Ltd
Also present were:
Eng. George Kalu: Technical Assistant to Chief Operating Officer, Refineries, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC); Chairman, Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Nigerian Council
