Using the Library

This page contains a set of guides on different library services, operations and some academic activities for library users. It is put together by the Library staff (under the leadership of the University Librarian, Mrs Onyebuchi Ekpolomo).

Our library users include enrolled students and alumni, faculty members, staff of AUST and external researchers who are permitted to use the AUST library (please refer to Who can use the library in the library manual, available on the Library page).

The Library is a quiet place for users to have maximum concentration while they study, hence no noise (from music, videos, lecture) is allowed and the use of cell phones is prohibited. You will find more rules under policies.

Registered users can read in the library and borrow library materials with the exception of reference and reserved materials (see more on circulation policies). Library forms can be obtained from the library page or from the Student Affairs Office.

The library shelves are tagged using the Dewey Decimal and Library of Congress Classification Schemes.

Library users can access information resources that are available in the library through our Online Catalogue http://opac.aust.edu.ng/ the University's Institutional Repository (IR) http://repository.aust.edu.ng/xmlui/ or visit the libraries in person at the Main Library in Mandela

Hall at MH120, African Development Bank (AfDB) Library at AfDB Building and Mathematics Library in Mathematics Institute at MS103.

Detailed information on how to use the online catalogue, the IR and other resources can be found under Using Library Resources.
