Symposium on Theoretical and Applied Physics

The Symposium will focus on recent highlights of complex physical and chemical systems, with special emphasis on energies and the understanding of their behaviors, especially as they develop unexpected phenomena.

The interest in this field has continuously growing, aiming at finding novel mathematical concepts and numerical simulations techniques likely to tackle such systems.
The most common challenge has been to make use of theoerical concept to understand experimental outputs or vice-versa. Remarkably, methods such as computational quantum dynamics and quantum chemistry and/or experiments have been central to molecular science including surface science, biophysics, catalysis and petroleum exploration.
This approach often provides detailed atomic-scale information likely to unravel experimental timescale for large systems.

Main topics of this symposium include (but not limited to) :

  • Bifurcations, chaos and solitons in nonlinear dynamical systems
  • Directed transport (ratchet) in classical and in quantum systems
  • Efficient algorithm for complex system
  • Time delayed dynamical systems
  • Network synchronization
  • The processing and heterostructuring of silk with light
  • Coherent control of small molecules (Strong and Short Laser pulses)
  • Quantum chemistry methods developments on few metal oxide systems (catalysis)
  • Experiments on 2D and complex systems
  • Physics of 2D Materials and its applications

This symposium is intended to enable the exchange of ideas between experts and to motivate young researchers into this field. While posters and short talks will be given by most participants, featured lectures will be presented by prominent invited speakers.
