- Nominated for the Emil Usibelli Distinguished Teaching Award by UAF students. This award is presented with a $10,000 cash award and a citation. It is the highest honor bestowed upon the UAF faculty member who displays extraordinary excellence in teaching (2008).
- Received recognition for the technical article in the Vadose Zone Journal (VZJ) as one of the top three excellent examples of VZJ science that was promoted to a wider audience as Press Release (2007).
- Received recognition from ARSC Director Williams for significant contribution to ARSC’s Science Investment Review (2005)
